भारत बायोटेक ने अपने इंट्रानैसल कोरोना वैक्सीन की बूस्टर डोज के लिए डीसीजीआई से तीसरे चरण के क्लिनिकल ट्रायल के लिए स्वीकृति मांगी है। यह वैक्सीन कोवैक्सीन और कोविशील्ड लगवा चुके लोगों को भी दी जा सकती है। इस वैक्सीन का विकास भारत बायोटेक वाशिंगटन यूनिवर्सिटी स्कूल ऑफ मेडिसिन के साथ मिलकर किया जा रहा है। इसे ‘ इंट्रानेजल एंटीडोट’ का नाम दिया है। जो कि नाक के जरिए दी जाने वाली संक्रमण रोधी दवा है।
सरकार ने सोमवार को राज्यसभा में कोरोना के नए वैरियंट ओमिक्रोन के खतरे को लेकर कहा कि वह इससे निपटने के लिए पूरी तरह तैयार है। वहीं केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण मंत्री मनसुख मांडविया ने कहा कि कोरोना महामारी की पहली व दूसरी लहर से अनुभव के आधार पर कोरोना के नए वैरियंट ओमिक्रोन से निपटने को लेकर हम प्रतिबद्ध है। देश मे ओमिक्रोन के 161 मामले अब तक सामने है जिनमें से 13 प्रतिशत मामलों में लक्षण अत्यंत मामूली है। उन्होंने बताया कि ओमिक्रोन के 80 फीसद मामलों में कोई लक्षण सामने नहीं आए है। जबकि 44 मरीज ठीक भी हो चुके है। बताया कि ओमिक्रोन 96 देशों में फैल चुका है। सरकार द्वारा इस पर नजर रखी जा रही है। उन्होंने बताया कि ओमिक्रोन के लिए भी वहीं दवाएं व प्रोटोकॉल है जो कोरोना के लिए है। बताया कि ओमिक्रोन के मामलों का पता लगाने के लिए 38 प्रयोगशालाएं कार्यरत है।
