देश में ओमिक्रोन वैरियंट के मामले 100 के पार पहुँच गए हैं। केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण मंत्रालय ने बताया कि कोरोना संक्रमण का नया वैरियंट देश के 11 राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों में फैल चुका है। आकड़ो के मुताबिक देश में ओमिक्रोन के अब 101 मरीज हो गए है। जिनमें सबसे अधिक 32 मरीज महाराष्ट्र में और दिल्ली में 22 मरीज़ो के साथ दूसरे स्थान पर है।
वहीं राजस्थान में 17, कर्नाटक व तेलंगाना में 8-8, गुजरात व केरल में 5-5 लोग 50 से अधिक लोग म्यूटेशन वाले वायरस से पीड़ित है। स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय के संयुक्त सचिव लव अग्रवाल ने बताया कि आंध्र प्रदेश, चंडीगढ़, तमिलनाडु व पश्चिम बंगाल में भी ओमिक्रोन के मामले सामने आने लगे है। इन राज्यो में अब तक 1-1 मामले सामने आए है।
मंत्रालय के मुताबिक दुनियाभर में ओमिक्रॉन के मामले लगातार बढ़ रहे हैं और शुक्रवार तक यूके में 11,708 लोग ओमिक्रॉन से संक्रमित हैं तो डेनमार्क में 9009 और नॉर्वे में 1,792 केस मिल चुके हैं। दक्षिण अफ्रीका, जहां सबसे पहले यह वेरिएंट पाया गया, में अब तक 1,247 लोग संक्रमित हुए हैं। कनाडा, अमेरिका, फ्रांस, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, दक्षिण कोरिया और बेल्जियम में 500 से कम मामले मिले हैं।
