प्रयाग भारत, हल्द्वानी: लालकुआं कोतवाली क्षेत्र के वीआईपी गेट के पास श्रमिक बस्ती में अचानक भीषण आग लग गई. आग लगने से कई मजदूरों की झोपड़ियां जलकर राख हो गई. जबकि दो दुकान भी आग की चपेट में आ गई. बताया जा रहा है कि आग लगने से मौके पर अफरा-तफरी मच गई. लोगों ने आग को बुझाने का प्रयास किया, लेकिन आग विकराल होने के कारण उन्हें सफलता नहीं मिली. लोगों ने घटना की सूचना पुलिस और अग्निशमन को दी. सेंचुरी पेपर मिल की फायर ब्रिगेड ने मौके पर पहुंचकर आग पर बमुश्किल काबू पाया.
वीआईपी गेट के पास बनी दुकानों के पीछे मजदूरों की एक झोपड़ी में अज्ञात कारणों के चलते आग लग गई. देखते ही देखते आग ने विकराल रूप ले लिया और झाड़ियों की आग दुकानों तक पहुंच गई. स्थानीय लोग एकजुट होकर बाल्टी से पानी डालकर आग बुझाने का प्रयास करते रहे, लेकिन आग विकराल होने के कारण उन्हें सफलता नहीं मिली. आग लगने से करीब आधा दर्जन से अधिक मजदूरों की झोपड़ियां जलकर राख हो गई.
बताया जा रहा है कि अग्निकांड से मजदूरों को काफी नुकसान पहुंचा है, यहां तक की दो दुकानों में लगी आग से भी भारी नुकसान पहुंचा है. वहीं घटना के बाद जिला प्रशासन की टीम नुकसान का आकलन करेगी. घटना के बाद मजदूरों के सामने खाने पीने का संकट भी खड़ा हो गया है. वहीं स्थानीय लोग उनको मदद पहुंचा रहे हैं. बताया जा रहा है कि बीती शाम के समय मजदूर का परिवार घर में खाना बना रहा था, जिसके चलते आग लगी है. फिलहाल अग्निशमन विभाग की टीम आग लगने के की जांच में जुटी हुई है.
